Your A4 Sheet Bundle Now Made Eco-Friendly And Affordable

Every year, tonnes of waste is produced by households and industries in the form of plastic. No matter how many measures we take to save the environment, the condition will not get better if we do not cut down the usage of resources. Renewal and reuse of the resources are very important in the present scenario to save the planet and make it sustainable.

A4 size paper bundles are used in offices, households, and everywhere else. But they contribute to the most amount of wastage in the environment. Our recycled papers are the best alternative to replace virgin papers —  our paper bundles ace in quality as well as affordability.

    Environment-friendly

Every day, we use paper for multiple purposes. Wherever writing or printing is in question, the requirement of paper arises. However, these papers, once used, are thrown away in the trash. This creates tonnes of paper waste, which is then disposed of in the oceans or landfills. To prevent this stage, it is necessary to use recycled paper. Our A4 sheet bundle is environment-friendly as it does not adversely affect the environment.

    100% post-consumer waste

When a consumer has used paper, it is a general tendency that he or she shall dispose of in the dustbin. All the waste gets collected in one place, which produces harmful toxic gases. This leads to a rise in air pollution. To tackle the situation of waste, it is pertinent to have a waste management system in place. Our papers are made from post-consumer waste, which is recycled into new paper.

    500sheets in one ream

You get 500 sheets in one ream. One can also avail discounts in bulk orders. Paper is something which is always in demand, be it offices, schools, courts, or household. So, it is a good option to purchase them in bulk, this can save you money, and you can get your hands on different offers.

    Think Trash initiative

Our A4 sheet bundle is a part of the Think Trash initiative. Companies must be a part of Corporate Social Responsibility. Apart from that, it is the responsibility of every company to give back to the society and environment that it has taken from it. Hence, industries are advised to participate in this initiative and contribute their bit in sustainable development.

    Quality with affordability

The most significant parameter before buying the papers, which need to be checked in advance, is the quality. A4 sheet bundle is made with pulp from old papers mixed with water. This mixture is then flattened in shape using wooden frames. The papers are further dried adequately to then be sold. They are of premium quality at a reasonable price.

Every year 65.5 percent of paper is recycled from waste. However, the same paper is not capable of being recycled multiple times; it does have limitations. Once the paper has been recycled, the fibers with which it is made tends to weaken. One process after another, the paper loses its strength.

Our A4 sheet bundle is an excellent way of promoting a green environment. They are only recycled seven times to keep the quality intact.

  • Your Perfect Guide To Purchasing Paper Bags Online

Your Perfect Guide To Purchasing Paper Bags Online

To save the environment and to rescue our next generation from the dearth of resources, we have to consider environmental-friendly living styles. Our use of synthetic products needs to be reduced, we have to find healthier alternatives to the chemicals that we use in the plants, and of course, we must cut down on tree hacking. On the flip side, our primary focus should be on afforestation.

However, it’s indeed impossible to shun the use of trees altogether. To think about it, our lives revolve around the use of trees and its by-products. Every time a new industry or factory is set, forest cover is cleared to make space for the same. Additionally, the products and by-products of the trees are used in powering these industries. Of all the products we use, the paper turns out to be the most prevalent — however, it’s time to cut down on the use of paper.

    Recycled paper

Since it’s not possible to cut down on the usage of paper entirely, a middle path can be used. We can opt for recycled paper or plantable paper products to reduce the pressure created on the natural resources. Recycled products are quite popular these days.

A lot of industries are using recycled products for making note-pads, newspaper, and paper-bags. Many countries across the world have banned the usage of plastic, and thus recycled bags have come to prominence. Since all of us are tech-friendly these days, buying paper bags online is something that we all do. However, there are a few essential aspects to consider before doing that.

    Quality of bags

When paper bags are ordered online, generally, it is done in bulk. In that light, it’s crucial to come up with a  particular quantity. If you are ordering the bags for your business, then make sure you have calculated the amount of sale you are likely to have in the season, the number of your customers, and, finally, the quantity of your product.

Ideally, the bags should just be enough to meet the need of the hour. You do not want to pile the paper bags. The idea is to save the environment, and stocking up paper bags unused may not be the right way to go about it.

Brown paper bags vs. white paper bags

Generally, paper bags are available in two colors, i.e., brown paper bags and white paper bags. Mostly, the brown paper bags are used; however, if you are ordering paper bags for your company, it might be a promising idea to opt for the white ones.

White paper bags, owing to its background color, make the logo of the company shine brighter. Even if you have taglines to your company, it shows clearly on the white-toned bags.

    The sustainability factor

The demand for custom paper bags is reducing the popularity of single-use plastic, which has been very dominant in the past. With our concerns about natural preservations rising, more and more business houses and brands are opting for recycled paper bags or plantable paper bags.

Not only are these paper bags unique by nature, but they also come in various styles, shapes, sizes, and patterns, which make these bags highly desirable and very fashionable, to say the least.

    Recyclable paper

Indeed all paper by nature is recyclable or compostable, but if you are ordering paper bags online, then make sure to ask your dealer for environment-friendly options. Ideally, it’s a good idea to opt for recyclable products so that you do not create pressure on the existing resources.

Recycled paper bags are not rare. Owing to the rising environmental awareness, more and more people are using paper bags, and thus, it’s quite freely available.

Paper bags come in various price ranges; even if you are opting for the recyclable paper bags, there are grades marking different types. So, in addition to selecting the type, size, color, paper quality, and pattern, it’s crucial to find out the different pricing options when you are planning on purchasing paper bags online.

Make sure you select an affordable and budget-friendly option that can satisfy your brand needs and help you sustain the environment. It’s time to go green, leave something back for the next generation, and it all starts with a healthy choice- recyclable paper bags. So, let’s begin today.

  • 90% of Humans Will Die in 31 Years [Climate Change Emergency]

90% of Humans Will Die in 31 Years [Climate Change Emergency]

    2050.

The end of the world has been the stuff of legend – movies have been made, soothsayers have predicted it, and now the judgment has officially been passed.

In another 31 years, 90% of mankind will be annihilated by climate change, says Australia’s Breakthrough National Centre for Climate Restoration (BNCCR)

That means in 31 years, most of us will likely be dead.

This is following up on the news that world leaders heard in the General Assembly earlier this year about the climate change emergency –

“Only 11 years is all that remains to stop irreversible damage from climate change.”

Climate emergency is true and staring us in the face.

11 years to stop irreversible damage from climate change. 31 years before we perish for good.

It’s time to formally and historically acknowledge just how badly we are messing with Planet Earth.

Just last month, a 34-member panel consisting of eminent scientists of the Anthropocene Working Group (AWG) voted in favor of declaring a new epoch in the history of Earth: Anthropocene—an era when humans have a disproportionate impact on the planet. This new era signals the end of the Holocene Epoch, which began 11,650 years ago.

    What is Anthropocene?

The term ‘Anthropocene’ was coined in the year 2000 by Nobel laureate Paul Crutzen and Eugene Stoermer. It refers to the current geological age in which human activity is the dominant influence on the environment. This new geological epoch is defined by human activities that have caused plastic trash overloadcarbon emissionsatomic weapons, and industrial smog.

To put it simply, Anthropocene is the time period when humans make a significant impact on Earth’s geology and ecosystem.

But the term goes beyond just climate change and physical changes to the Earth. It also refers to the massive impact we have made on fellow Earthlings. And what an impact we have made!

Why should I worry about climate change?

We have forgotten that we are also a part of the environment. We have used the resources so carelessly that we are not left with anything. Climate change is merely a consequence of our doings. In a few years, we will be gripped with incurable diseases; only then we will realize how important it is to act against climate change.

Will climate change affect the entire ecosystem?

Yes, climate change will not only affect humans but animals and plants as well. We all know that pollution is damaging our lungs severely. Plantable and recyclable products are the only medium that can stop the damage being done to the ecosystem

What can I do as an individual to prevent the harm being done to the environment?

If you want to contribute to the environment, you can start by taking small steps. Replace plastic and paper products in your house by seed paper bundles. Reduce the use of nonrenewable resources. Use recyclable gifts at ceremonies rather than expensive showpieces.

Can corporate entities contribute to deal with climate change emergencies?

Manufacturers have polluted the environment the most by recklessly exhausting resources. Companies can contribute by making Green promotions, using recyclable packaging for goods, giving seed paper products to employees, and use resources efficiently.

A recent UN report revealed that 1 million species of animals and plants are now facing extinction due to human activity.

    • Out of the 8 million animal and plant species on Earth, 1 million are threatened with extinction.
    • More than 40% of amphibian species, almost 33% of corals and more than a third of all marine mammals are threatened
    • 66% of the marine environment has been significantly altered and 33% marine mammals are threatened with extinction.

Now, with the latest bombshell, we are just confirming what scientists and environmentalists have been harping about for years.

The noose is around our neck.

Start By Ensuring Ocean Bound Trash is Converted into Sustainable Products

Should we take this report seriously?

The BNCCR findings may seem alarmist, but the cause for alarm is genuine, the report says. It argues that though the data is there for all to see, bodies like the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) are not projecting the doomsday scenario realistically enough—that they are “erring on the side of least drama”.

“We must never forget that we are in a unique situation with no precise historic analogue. The level of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is now greater, and the Earth warmer than what human beings have ever experienced. And there are almost eight billion of us now living on this planet.”

According to the study, we are marching towards an existential crisis at a much quicker trot than previously thought. It even questions the efficacy of the Paris Agreement that aims to cap global temperature rise to 3-5°C.

That’s bad enough for disaster, the BNCCR says. “…3°C of warming already constitutes an existential risk,” says the study.

The BNCCR claims that a 3°C rise would correspond to a 0.5m rise in sea levels endangering coastal areas around the world.

Mumbai, Shanghai and other cities at risk

A 3°C rise in temperatures would correspond to a 0.5m rise in sea levels endangering coastal areas around the world. “If climate change was to reach 3°C, most of Bangladesh and Florida would drown, while major coastal cities — ShanghaiLagosMumbai — would be swamped, likely creating large flows of climate refugees,” says the study.

Besides, when temperatures rise more than 3°C, the domino effect that will be hard to roll back. Think no more polar ice caps to reflect the sun’s rays and heat, Arctic permafrost defrosting to release methane into the atmosphere and other such horrendous things that will only make the Earth hotter still. A 4°C rise could annihilate up to 80-90% of the global human population, say the study.

The think-tank estimates that if nothing is done, by 2050 up to 1 billion people currently residing in West Africa and the Middle East will have to relocate because the climate conditions there will make these places unliveable. Other parts of the world will experience more than 20 days of “record-breaking heatwaves and wildfires, more intense flooding and more damaging hurricanes” every year.

“Climate change is now reaching the end-game, where very soon, humanity must choose between taking unprecedented action, or accepting that it has been left too late and bear the consequences.” That’s a chilling warning.

On World Environment Day, we at Pepaa hope that we urgently recognize the impact of human interference, and spread awareness about the reality of the role of mankind in the destruction of Planet Earth.

  • Sustainable Packaging – The Key to Brand Recognition

It is a known fact that the population on our planet is increasing at an alarming rate. Over the last twelve years, approximately one billion inhabitants have been added to the world. As of now, the earth is home to a whopping 7 billion inhabitants. Every being that is brought into the world, is born with his own share of likes, dislikes, and preferences. He chooses what he likes and what he doesn’t like. He chooses what products he will use and what he will not.

To meet the demands of this ever-increasing population, innumerous industries worldwide produce massive amounts of commodities everyday. Whether its food and beverage, fashion and beauty, or household, millions of products are produced in all categories.

In this fast-paced age, every human being consumes a plethora of commodities in his life. Can you imagine the amount of packaging generated by all the products each human consumes in his entire lifetime?

What is product packaging made up of, you ask? Here’s our breakdown for the same:

    1. Plastic: The easiest packaging material out there, approximately 53% of all products are packed using plastic materials.
    2. Paper: 25% of all goods are packed using paper packaging.
    3. Glass: A whopping 3.7 million tonnes of glass packaging is produced every year. Glass is used package around 10% of products.
    4. Aluminium: Approximately 189,000 tonnes of aluminium packaging is used annually worldwide.
    5. Steel: 13 billion steel cans are produced every year.

Now, out of all these materials, 38% of it in a person cannot be recycled. It is let into landfills and remains on the planet forever. According to environmental reports, packaging creates approximately 29 million tons of non-compostable waste to landfills every year.

Here are a few scarring examples of damaging, destructive and dangerous packaging that will blow your mind!

    • The amount of fatal and unhealthy packaging that is thrown away every single year is as good as circling the earth 4 times.
    • According to top environmental researchers, the oceans of the earth consist of more plastic and harmful packaging than wildlife. In fact, plastic packaging outnumbers sea life by six items for every one sea animal.
    • That’s not all for causing a hazard to the sea, tiny pieces of injurious materials present in the ocean are consumed by innumerable creatures. Due to this, many diverse species of marine animals like sea are gradually getting extinct.
    • Have you ever taken your preferred beverages in a disposable packaging on a hasty day? Well, you’re not the only one. Over 25 million people consume coffee and other beverage in plastic/paper cups every single day. Can you imagine all the 25 million cups accumulating as waste every day?
    • Plastic Bottles account for one of the most threatening forms of plastic packaging. Over 20,000 plastic bottles are sold every second in the world.  Out of this unimaginable amount, only 50% of them are recycled. Not only that, the percentage of bottles that are turned into new packaging is just 7%.

    What is Sustainable Packaging?

Sustainable Packaging is that outer covering of products that is safe and healthy for the ecological environment. This earth-friendly packaging is made from harmless, toxic-free materials that do not disrupt the soul of the natural ecosystem.

    Why is Sustainable Packaging important?

Now that we know the calamitic ill effects of non-biodegradable, it’s time to explore a solution to this catastrophic concern.

As more and more people are becoming aware of the disastrous impact of packaging, businesses are adopting more and more greener ways on presenting their products. To create this eco friendly change, Pepaa is playing a major role in reducing the amount of waste generated due to product packaging.

How is product packaging a hazard to the environment?

Non-biodegradable product packaging like plastic, glass, aluminum and steel are a threat to the environment. They occupy thousands of landfills and are never totally recycled. Plastic is the ultimate poison for the planet. Other things follow.

What is an effective solution to packaging problems?

An effective solution would be to stop using non-biodegradable product packaging and switching to organic product packaging. Unlike the regular packaging, organic product packaging won’t produce toxic wastes and will be easily recyclable

    What is Sustainable Packaging?

As the name suggests, sustainable packaging is a handmade, recycled, organic and biodegradable type of packaging. No plastic is involved in the making of it. In fact, Pepaa even offers plantable seed paper packaging that has little studded in it. After using the packaging paper, one can plant these seeds in the soil and they’ll grow into plants.

Where can I find sustainable packaging?

Sustainable packaging is yet to hit the markets but you can find them online, easily. At Pepaa, you can go through an entire range dedicated to ethical packaging that doesn’t hurt the environment. They have plantable paper packaging, recycled carton boxes, and even seed paper envelopes.

To give packaging a further unique twist, Pepaa also introduced plantable seed paper packaging. This exceptional concept refers to a piece of packaging that is made of recycled paper and then infused with seeds. When this packaging meets soil, the recycled paper decomposes, leaving the seeds behind. In a couple of days, the seeds germinate and slowly grow into fresh, green plants. Thus, a product is wrapped into a magic that is a gift to nature.

Let’s take a step and let’s be the change.

Let’s opt for packaging for the new age that does not become garbage!

  • Do We Have A Future Without Our Planet?

Billions and billions of years ago, when God must be creating our Planet Earth…

    • Ample of fresh blue water – Check
    • Tall, dark, and absolutely luscious green trees- Check
    • Natural and pure air – Check
    • Acres and acres of seamless clean land – Check
    • Precisely enough sunlight – Check

God, truly was endowing on mankind. But, are we really thankful for everything that is granted to us? Maybe not. And, it’s time that we love and appreciate this beautiful planet that we were gifted. The basic rule of a healthy relationship is, when you take something, you must always give something in return. Yet, the alliance with our blue and green globe has been only of accepting everything that comes our way, to the extent, that we have begun destructing the only celestial body designed for our survival. It was made to provide us with food, shelter, and pure air. Unfortunately, today we use it to fulfill all our luxury and comfort needs. But, this is old news. We are all aware of the alarming rate at which our Mother Earth is deteriorating. The real problem is that we are all still in denial. Denial that we do not harm our environment on an individual level.

However, it is now time to clear this misconception:

    Do you use paper?

    Do you use plastic bags?

    Do you use pencils?

If your answer to any or all of the above questions is ‘YES’ then you are equally responsible for the condition of our planet today. Why you may ask? Well, let’s start with paper. The thin crisp sheets of papers that we use on a daily basis are formed from shedding down thousands and thousands of trees. Sometimes huge acres of forest land are wiped out just to satisfy the endless paper demand. Even in this electronic age, the need for paper hasn’t subsided. In fact, has increased manifold. An extremely terrifying and shocking number of 2.47 million trees are cut down every day just for paper. Paper, which was used once and thrown away.

The sad part is that most of the times unused paper is treated as scrap. Children in schools, colleges, and other institutions use infinite paper every day. Paper is a constant element in the life of professionals like lawyers, doctors, and architects. The sole reason multinational companies function today is due to Paper. Countless numbers of thin sheets of papers are used every day, in every industry, at every home, and by every individual. Do you still believe that you do nothing to harm the planet? A simple piece of paper has the power to destroy our Earth forever.

    What are recycled paper pencils?

Recycled paper pencils are a blessing to our planet, honestly. Every year, millions of trees had to be cut down in order to provide us with pencils. In no way was this ethical. That’s why recycled paper pencils came to the rescue. They’re made from recycled newspapers. Plantable seeds come packed with these pencils.

    What are handmade paper bags?

Handmade paper bags, as the name suggests, are handmade bags made out of recycled paper. They are strong but pretty as well. These bags are designed with a vision to discourage the use of plastic bags which are toxic to the environment.

    What are plantable seed papers?

Plantable seed papers are handmade papers made from paper and textile waste. They’re infused with seeds that you can plant in soil once you have used the paper. These seeds will grow into plants and trees if watered regularly.

    Where can I find these?

The one-stop solution to all your eco-friendly stationery needs is Pepaa. We are an online store that cares about the planet, and it is quite evident in all our products. Our only aim is to benefit the environment, instead of exploiting it.

Pencils- The most fond memories for anybody are their childhood ones. Where they scribbled and doodled their way to adulthood. Growing up lead pencils, colour pencils, velvet pencils have created a permanent mark on our lives, but also on the life of our Planet. A pencil’s best friend is paper. Just like paper it follows the same faith. Carries with it the guilt of a million trees that were killed to give the pencil a life.

Plastic Bags- Nature’s most feared enemy. Polythene is the main element used in manufacturing plastic bags. Countries across the globe have time and again banned products that incorporate this harmful substance that we so carelessly use. We are so accustomed to using plastic that we cannot avoid them even, on small trips to the supermarket or street shopping.

Did You Know- Plastic is the only material that never decomposes? And, even if it has one shot at partially decomposing it will be after 200-400 years. So, every single plastic bag that you’ve used till date is lying somewhere on the surface of the Earth, polluting our environment.

‘Unity is Strength.’ It’s time we stand united together with our Planet on this war against all products that are causing irreparable harm to it. Starting with the basic necessities.

Pepaa is here to provide you with plenty of alternate options, which are fancier and sustainable and eco-friendly at the same time.

For instance, Pepaa’s team develops smooth textured paper by recycling the endless paper available in every household and office. To top this, they even infuse this fine quality paper with seeds. So, when you are done using the paper, you can actually let it blossom into a beautiful flower plant with adequate water and sunlight. What a beautiful way to give back to nature! • Please don’t BUY velvet pencils – 2 Reasons why you shouldn’t!

I want to be a doctor.

I want to be a teacher.

I want to be a superstar.

I want to be a engineer.

I want to be an architect.

Do you know whose words are these?

No, they aren’t of a person who is deciding what to do with their career after they have graduated. In fact, these words are spoken by our beautiful small children as soon as they learn how to speak and write.

Do you remember those times when you would run around the house screaming and chanting, ‘When I grow up I will be a doctor, just like my mom/dad.’ You would scribble these words with different velvet colour pencils in your personal diaries and even across your homes on walls, cupboards, and beds.

Even at this young age, our children taught us one important lesson. There is no age to dream big and there is no dream too big that cannot be achieved.

All you need is a clear, innocent mind and a guiding element.

But, what is this element that supports our children throughout their lives?

Parent’s, Teacher’s? Yes, ofcourse. But other than that there is one more element.

It is a 19 cm long object, mostly created in a cylindrical shape.

    A pencil.

A pencil is the backbone of every child’s dream. The pencil supports the child since the time he began colouring in those endless colouring books. In that phase, the vibrant velvety colour pencils taught him how to colour, taught him the names of different objects he would colour, but most importantly it taught him that whatever happens, life will always be colourful when colour pencils are with him.

Later, that excited, bubbly child joined a play school. A school where he made new friends and commenced the process of learning. A place where alphabets and numbers were introduced to him. He was taught how to write between the lines of his note book. In this stage, the velvet pencil was always ready with it’s dark lead and smooth texture to make A,B,C,D and 1,2,3,4 easy and fun to learn.

How are velvet pencils affecting the planet adversely?

Velvet is made from cheap polyester material which is not biodegradable. It takes years to get decomposed, which is why it is not environment-friendly at all. Velvet pencils used to be made with silk earlier; however, their quality has fallen low by the manufacturers to gain profits.

Should I stop using velvet pencils?

If you ardently care about your environment, you should. Velvet pencils are used by children often for attraction. For the mere sake of making the product look beautiful, most manufacturers recklessly harm the environment with irreversible damage. You should stop using velvet pencils and start using recyclable pencils, which are not made of artificial silk.

What can I use in place of velvet pencils?

Don’t worry. We are for you. If you are wondering what can you use instead of velvet pencils, which are beautiful but eco-friendly, we have plantable pencils. The seeds attached to these pencils can be sown in soil when the pencil has been used.

What variety of seeds can I plant with plantable pencils?

There are several seeds that you can get with different vibrant colors of plantable and recyclable newspaper pencils. You can decide on from a wide variety of seeds like onion, tomato, sunflower, and marigold. Seeds of fruits, flowers, and vegetables are separately available with the plantable pencils.

As the child grows up he goes through hectic study schedules, long hours of work and many ups and downs in his life. But like a real hero, the pencil is still there by his side whenever it is needed. Helping him to find the ‘x’ of Mathematics, learning the confusing science formulae, memorising the history dates or studying the entire globe, the pencil was always there.

Now, comes the time when he had to appear for the most awaited and feared exams. The Final Exam! The pencil’s role here, is not just of support. A pencil becomes the child’s partner during this exam. He shows faith and trust in him and encourages him to do the best he can. The pencil, who doesn’t receive acknowledgement, is one of the main reasons for him to clear these exams.

That pencil is like a mother. It keeps doing innumerable favours on us so we get the best in life without asking for anything in return.

Today, the small toddler has evolved into a full grown man. A man who graduated with high grades and has become what he had dreamt.

Across the globe, you will see plenty of Doctors, Teachers, Architects, Engineers working exceptionally hard in their lives. But guess what?

Even today, their hand still holds a pencil.

    Some things never change.

Though, he made his life, but growing up he simultaneously destroyed another life.

Can you imagine whose life this could be?

NATURE. He disturbed the life of our mother nature.

His constant velvety support was actually manufactured out of a material that is not nature friendly.

Why do we quote, ‘velvet is not a safe material for our planet?’

Initially,  yes, the smooth and shiny texture of velvet was woven out of silk.

But, today’s fast fashion, expensive, and impatient world has replaced the natural materials with cheap and artificial ones.

Most of the industries use our nature’s worst enemy, ‘polyester’ in place of silk to deliver the velvet pencils that countless number of children demand every single day.

How does polyester, used in velvet pencils shorten the lifespan of our mother earth?

    • Polyester derived from petroleum is an absolutely non biodegradable product.

And, it’s best shot to even biodegrade partly will be approximately after 200 years.

    Now that’s a scary number.

    • In addition, an energy-intensive heating process is needed to manufacture polyester used to create velvet for velvet pencils. That leads to using excessive quantities of fresh water for its cooling.

So let’s fasten our seat belts and be ready to welcome a world whose ambience will not be green trees and serene blue water but instead be non biodegradable velvet pencils forever.

Is it really worth to shine in life over our green and blue globe’s misery?

Only a miracle can save us from this harmful velvet hole we have dug since childhood.

In this world of careless consumption, Pepaa is here to save our environment and promote a sustainable living. Pepaa urges every budding child to use its handmade recycled and plantable paper pencils. Pencils designed by our team are not only eco-friendly, but are made with love and precision.

Everytime you outgrow our pencils, just sow the seeds attached to them into a pot and water them to grow your own personal tree. With Pepaa pencils, every child will build their career and contribute to a greener environment.

  • The World’s Largest Ocean Cleanup Has Officially Begun

The World’s Largest Ocean Cleanup Has Officially Begun

Ambitious dreams have now become a reality as the Ocean Cleanupdeploys its $20 million system designed to clean up the 1.8 trillion pieces of trash floating in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

A floater from The Ocean Cleanup.
     THE OCEAN CLEANUP

The floating boom system was deployed on Saturday from San Francisco Bay and will undergo several weeks of testing before being hauled into action. The system was designed by the nonprofit Ocean Cleanup, which was founded in 2013 by 18-year-old Dutch inventor Boyan Slat. Their mission is to develop “advanced technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic.”

The floating boom system, with the help of dozens of more booms, is estimated to clean up half of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch within the first five years. Each boom will trap up to 150,000 pounds of plastic per year as they float along the currents between California and Hawaii.

Location of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and the subtropical convergence zone.
     NOAA

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a vortex of trash created from an ocean gyre in the central North Pacific. The trash vortex was discovered in the mid-1980s and lies halfway between Hawaii and California.

The garbage patch is so large, it is easily detectable from space via satellites and covers roughly 1.6 million square kilometers and 1.8 trillion pieces of debris. The trash is collected and trapped within a circulating ocean current, called a gyre. This prevents the distribution of the garbage patch, a benefit when creating a system to collect the plastic.

What is the Ocean Cleanup project?

There’s a Great Pacific Garbage Patch that is damaging the ecosystem of the ocean. It is not only polluting the environment dreadfully but also killing the water life altogether. Ocean Cleanup project is taken up to boom the plastic garbage from the ocean, which is visible even from satellites.

How will Ocean cleanup help to save the environment?

The project will deploy a machine that will lift the entire garbage from a netting of 10 feet between Hawaii And California. This will help to extract every piece of plastic from the ocean. The garbage is spread across 1.6 million square kilometers and will be towed to start the collection of trash.

Is it mandatory to spend so much money on these projects?

Yes, it is undoubtedly. We have done irreversible damage to the environment. And it is time that we try mending that damage. Ocean life is choking in plastic; they cannot breathe inside the ocean. It is essential to use eco-friendly products like plantable pencils, seed paper notes, and recyclable seed bombs.

How can I individually contribute to saving the environment?

By using our environment-friendly products, you can contribute your bit to the planet. It is not always crucial to spend a lot of money to do something big. Using sustainable products can help the environment to breathe. And when the environment will breathe, we can too.

The floating boom system, after undergoing testing, will be towed out 1,400 miles to the garbage patch around mid-October and begin collecting trash. The floating boom drifts along with the local currents, creating a U-shaped formation. As the boom floats, it collects trash in the U shaped system, which has 10 feet of netting below it to collect smaller fragments of plastic. Once the boom is full, a vessel will meet the boom to collect the plastic and transport it to land for sorting and recycling.

The idea is that the 10 feet of netting is not deep enough that fish can’t swim below it, with the hope that the boom will collect trash and not fish. However, this is something that remains to be seen in the open ocean.

While the organization has ambitious plans and the technology still remains unproven in the open ocean, they are the closest to a solution to cleaning up the garbage patch we have. No other company has a deployable system able to clean up the garbage patch on this scale.

The company is backed by some heavy hitters in the tech industry, including Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal and Marc Benioff, the chief executive of Salesforce.com

Continued testing and deployment of additional boom systems will help further refine the systems to be more efficient and less disruptive to ocean ecosystems.

  • Top 10 ways to reduce paper waste at office

Top 10 ways to reduce paper waste at office

Did you know that 50% of wastage in businesses consists of paper? You would agree, wouldn’t you?

Let that sink in for a moment. 50%(!) – Half of all wastes produced in a business – is paper!

Paper accounts for 25% of landfill waste and 32% of municipal waste. We think of plastic as a huge pollutant, but so is paper.

Today, people are becoming more and more conscious and aware of the choices they make and the impact their choices have on our surroundings. People are adopting a greener way of living not only for their own benefit but also for the conservation of the natural habitat.

An eco- friendly lifestyle is not just limited to your home or wedding. Have you considered reducing your environmental footprint at your workplace?

If you’re looking for some inspiration to make a difference, get started with this guide to do your bit.

Here are our top 10 ways to create a sustainable environment and reduce paper wastage in your

    1. Think before you print

There are tons and tons of documents we print that we don’t even need. All of us have unnecessary documents lying around. So the next time, just before you click the Print button, take a moment and think, Do you actually need that piece of paper to be printed?

There are still countless examples of employees continuing to print documents when it is likely unnecessary: for manual filing, when copies already exist, or for getting a signature. Think email, and DigiLocker solutions, or PDF tools with electronic signature capabilities, please

    1. Go digital

Let’s be a little tech-savvy and go digital. It not only saves paper and reduces waste, but also serves as a more secure and protected medium of storing documents. Electronically stored documents can be more guarded as compared to a traditionally locked cupboard. Not convinced yet? Well, it’s easy to store and locate as you don’t have to look through piles and piles as paper filled documents. What’s more is that they take up no space at all.

To go completely paper-free and to ensure that all your document processes are digital, you can also ask that all your clients or suppliers to send documents, bills or invoices in an electronic form.

    1. Recycle

The best way to reduce paper waste is to recycle it instead of disposing it. It might sound like a difficult task but we completely disagree. Segregate paper from other trash. Shred the paper waste, add water and dry it to make your own, brand new, earthy-like paper.

And besides, recycling 1 ton of paper saves 682 gallons of oil, 26,500 gallons of water and over 17 trees. Surprised, aren’t you?

Pepaa Manufactures Exquisite Products from Upcycled Paper Waste!

    Look at Pepaa’s Upcycled Products

    1. Reuse paper

Most people print on one-side of the paper and throw it away immediately once they don’t need it anymore. However, little do we realise is that one side of the paper is still empty and waiting to be used and written upon. This completely functional side of paper can also used for more printing – or for doodling, sketching or jotting down some important points. The intention – if you see a white space on a paper, try filling it up.

Think of the sq.ft of paper to be as costly as a sq.ft in Mumbai – and you will never waste another inch again. 🙂

    1. Print on both sides of the paper

Print double sided as much you can. People might cringe at the thought of this but trust us, the earth will definitely thank you for saving paper. You can easily select this action from your printers settings and Voila! Your purpose is fulfilled while fighting paper pollution. Set all your computers, printers, and all other devices to print double-sided by default.

If you are unsure how to set your computer/printer to print on both sides of the paper, read this guide here.

    1. Reduce Margins, Fonts, Headers and Footers
This can save considerable amounts of paper waste. How many times have we been guilty of huge font sizes, margins the size of Howrah Bridge, and footers and headers that take up more space than the body of the document? A simple click of the Preview button before you hit that Print button can save dozens of paper waste, surely!
    1. Eliminate the use of paper towels

Believe it or not, a major source of paper pollution in businesses is paper towels and tissues. Generally, people hastily use tissues without paying attention to their quantity of consumption. Replace your paper towels with effective air dryers and water systems. Cloth towels can also be an eco friendly substitute.

    1. Stop using Paper Plates and Paper Cutlery

Using disposable cutlery at events or even on a daily basis at work can be threatening for the environment. Instead, switch to the basic steel or glass based cutlery. This will save you tons of money as well as garbage. And besides, it would also give your delicious food a very homely vibe. Now who wouldn’t want that?

    1. Use recycled paper Business cards

This would be an extremely useful tip to taking a sustainable step at work. Use recycled tree-free paper to print your business or visiting cards. It’s great for the environment and would instantly convey your eco friendly ethics to any receiver. Good or good?

Better Yet, What If Your Business Card Can Be Planted and You Can Grow Flowers and Vegetables?

Is That Really Possible? I Want Them!

    1. Re-check your document before printing

How many times have we realised grammatical errors and spelling mistakes after printing a document? Check a document thoroughly before you actually click on the print option. It will save you many resources like paper, ink, money and time!

Conserving paper in the office is a very important step for the future of the planet. Let’s be eco-conscious and do our bit.Taking a step towards sustainability and making a contribution will not only bolster your corporate image and local reputation, but will also lead to minimization of paper waste on a large scale. Let’s save the paper to save the planet!

There are several ways that can be used to reduce the usage of paper. We often print irresponsibly. Several copies of documents are made that are circulated among the employees. Using digital platforms instead of using paper is the best way to be eco-friendly

Can recycling and reusing paper help to reduce paper waste?

Yes, it can. Recycling reusing and reducing paper waste is the best option to be environment-friendly. You can use plantable pencils for the office stationery instead of plastic pens, which are non-biodegradable. Seed paper notes can be used in meetings to note down the minutes.

What can I use instead of paper products in the office?

Recyclable and plantable products can reduce the use of paper. Print on both sides of the paper product, utilize business cards made from plantable paper, use the digital medium more often to circulate the documents. By taking these steps, you can reduce paper waste in your office.
